Coffee is India’s favourite beverage. A cup of it over a casual conversation with friends, or while you read your favourite novel, it never fails to relax you. At least for me, it’s rejuvenating. While India’s Southern part is famous for its Filter coffee, I make it the easy way.Indian Espresso Coffee, a rich, creamy and frothy coffee, which can actually be described as an amalgam of espresso and cappuccino. I say so because, I find it having the powerful essence and aroma of an espresso and at the same time it also has the velvet-y and creamy texture of a cappuccino. To cut long story short, it is luxury in a cup! And mind you, this can get mighty addictive.
You do not need an extravagant espresso machine to get a cup of this rich and creamy magic. All you need is your ingredients and a coffee mug with a spoon. Yes, that’s it. You have to vigorously beat the coffee and granulated sugar mix with a lot of energy to get a whipped coffee-sugar paste. Your rich, creamy and milky Indian Espresso Coffee will be ready in minutes.
2 cups milk (steamed)
Approx. 2 tsp water
2 tablespoon instant coffee
Mix sugar, instant coffee and 1 teaspoon of water in a mug. Using a spoon, whisk until the coffee mixture is light and creamy. Add more water if the mixture gets too stiff. A couple drops at a time.
Divide the coffee mixture between 2 cups. Add steamed milk. Mix well.
